It can be a very serious matter when an individual is accused of having been involved in a drunk driving accident which resulted in another individual's death. Recently, in Texas, a sentence was issued in a drunk driving case involving a fatal motor vehicle accident.

The case involved a 25-year-old man from San Antonio, Texas. Reportedly, on December 22, 2007, the man was driving a pickup truck along a road in Texas. Allegedly, the 25-year-old man's pickup truck then crossed the road's center line and collided head-on into a mini-van that was being driven by a 66-year-old man. The 66-year-old man died as a result of this motor vehicle accident.

The 25-year-old man was accused of having been drunk at the time of this accident.

The 25-year-old man faced charges of intoxication manslaughter in connection to this crash. He pled guilty to these charges. Recently, the man was given his sentence in this case. According to the article on KSAT's website which reported this story, the man was sentenced to serve six years in prison.

As this case illustrates, being accused of being involved in a drunk driving accident that resulted in another individual's death can lead to a person facing major criminal charges and major consequences. Thus, if a person is accused of being involved in a fatal drunk driving accident, having a strong defense can be very important.
