Being accused of having been involved in a drunk driving accident that resulted in another individual's death can lead to a person facing major potential consequences. Serious criminal charges (such as involuntary manslaughter or vehicular homicide) can be brought against a person if he or she is accused of having been involved in such an accident. If a person is convicted of such charges, he or she can be given major criminal punishments. Thus, being accused of having been involved in a fatal drunk driving accident can be a very serious matter.

Recently, a sentence was issued in a drunk driving case from Colorado involving a man from Missouri. The man in question is a 34-year-old man.

Allegedly, on the night of December 26, 2010, the man was driving a semi-truck the wrong way along an interstate in Colorado without its headlights on. It was alleged that the man had been drinking at a bar prior to this and was drunk at this time. Allegedly, the man's semi-truck then collided head-on with a car.

The driver of the car was killed in the accident. The crash also reportedly resulted in one passenger of the car sustaining serious injuries and another passenger of the car sustaining minor injuries.

The 34-year-old man from Missouri faced multiple criminal charges in connection to this accident. Last November, the man submitted a guilty plea in this case. In this plea, the man pled guilty to several charges. Included among the charges the man pled guilty to were charges of DUI and vehicular homicide.

As we mentioned above, the man was recently given his sentence in this case. The man was sentenced to serve 12 years in prison.
